Find Top Fence Companies in Provo, UT

Utah County’s fence market covers the southern half of the Wasatch Front from Provo and Orem north through Lindon, American Fork, and Lehi to the rapidly expanding tech corridor around Point of the Mountain. This market has exploded in recent years as Utah County has become the heart of “Silicon Slopes” — the tech company growth that has driven massive residential development in Lehi, Saratoga Springs, Eagle Mountain, and Spanish Fork. The character here is younger, faster-growing, and more HOA-dominated than Salt Lake County, with entire master-planned communities governed by detailed covenant restrictions that specify fence materials, colors, heights, and styles. Nephi in Juab County to the south is an outlier — a rural ranching community where the fence market is agricultural and governed by entirely different priorities.

Provo / Utah County Zoning & Permit Guide

City of Provo: The Provo Building Division requires a permit for most permanent fence installations. Standard residential zoning allows rear and side yard fences up to 6 feet and front yard fences up to 4 feet. Provo’s older central neighborhoods near BYU have established residential character while newer developments push south and west.

Orem, Lindon, American Fork, Lehi: Each city in Utah County operates its own building department. Lehi in particular has seen explosive growth and requires permits for all permanent residential fences. HOA activity across new Utah County communities is extremely high. See our FAQ on fence permit requirements.

Juab County (Nephi): Nephi is the county seat of Juab County and is governed by its own city building department. This is a rural market where agricultural and ranch fence work is the norm, governed by county rather than suburban HOA standards.

Caliche Soils: Utah County shares the Wasatch Front’s caliche hardpan challenges. Confirm your contractor uses equipment rated for caliche drilling and sets posts to adequate depth for Utah’s frost line.

Pool Safety: Utah pool barrier requirements mandate a minimum 48-inch (4-foot) enclosure with self-closing, self-latching gates. Learn more about making your fence pool code compliant.

Utilities: Utah law requires calling Blue Stakes of Utah (811) at least two working days before any digging begins.
